Method

Churros Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and add the all-purpose flour. Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the mixture forms a smooth ball of dough.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil for Frying

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil for frying over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Frying Churros

  1. 5

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil.

  2. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.

  3. 7

    Drain and Cool

Remove the churros from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. 8

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow dish, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 9

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 10

    Make the Sauce

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips.

  2. 11

    Stir Until Smooth

Let the mixture sit for a minute, then stir until the chocolate is fully melted and the sauce is smooth. Add vanilla extract and mix.
