Chips

Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prep the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to form chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla wedges in batches to the hot oil. Fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Season the Chips

Sprinkle with salt while still warm to enhance the flavor.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Prep the Vegetables

Finely chop the Roma tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño pepper, and fresh cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño pepper, and cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Seasoning

Pour lime juice over the mixture and add salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  4. 8

    Let it Rest

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
