Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut each corn tortilla into 6 wedges to create triangular chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add a few tortilla wedges to the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Season the Chips

While still warm, sprinkle the chips with salt to taste.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Finely chop the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and fresh cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Salsa

In a large bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.

  3. 7

    Add Lime Juice and Salt

Pour in the lime juice and add salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  4. 8

    Refrigerate

Cover the salsa and let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
