Steak Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the steaks

Rub both sides of each steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Ensure that the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Preheat the grill or skillet

Preheat your grill or a heavy skillet (cast iron preferred) over medium-high heat for about 5 to 10 minutes. You want it to be very hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the steaks

Place the seasoned ribeye steaks onto the hot grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them, until a nice crust forms.

  3. 5

    Flip the steaks

Using tongs, flip the steaks over and add the fresh rosemary sprigs to the skillet or grill. Cook for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare or until your desired doneness is reached.

  4. 6

    Rest the steaks

Remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest on a plate, covered loosely with aluminum foil, for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
