Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and immediately stir in the all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for about 5 minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth.

Frying Churros

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough (about 4-6 inches long) into the hot oil.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros in batches until they are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

Coating

  1. 7

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat the Churros

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until coated evenly.
