Taco Filling

Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Grilling the Steak

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is reached (medium-rare is about 135°F).

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Tacos

  1. 6

    Chop the Ingredients

While the steak is resting, finely chop the grilled steak into strips. In a separate bowl, combine the chopped onions and cilantro.

  2. 7

    Warm the Tortillas

Lightly heat the corn tortillas on the grill or in a skillet until warm and pliable.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 8

    Fill the Tortillas

Place a generous amount of chopped steak on each tortilla, followed by the onion-cilantro mixture.

  2. 9

    Add Optional Ingredients

If desired, add sliced radishes on top for crunch. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
