Base Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Ingredients

Gather all your ingredients and prepare the fillings of your choice by chopping or dicing them as necessary.

  2. 2

    Beat the Eggs

In a mixing bowl, crack 3 whole eggs. Add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper. Beat the eggs until well combined and slightly frothy.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

Place a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add 1 tbsp of butter. Allow the butter to melt and coat the bottom of the pan.

  2. 4

    Cook the Eggs

Pour the beaten eggs into the pan, tilting the pan slightly to ensure the eggs cover the base evenly. Let the eggs cook undisturbed for about 2-3 minutes, or until the edges start to set.

  3. 5

    Add Fillings

Once the eggs are mostly set, sprinkle your choice of fillings evenly over one half of the omelette. Common options include cheddar cheese, diced bell pepper, onion, mushrooms, spinach, diced tomato, cooked ham, and crumbled bacon.

  4. 6

    Fold the Omelette

Using a spatula, gently fold the other half of the omelette over the fillings. Allow it to cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts and the omelette is fully cooked.

  5. 7

    Serve

Carefully slide the omelette onto a plate and serve hot. Garnish with additional herbs or toppings if desired.
