Method

Brownie Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.

2

Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

3

Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, and cocoa powder. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.

4

Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.

5

Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

6

Cool the Brownies

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before cutting them into squares.

Assembly

7

Prepare the Hot Fudge

While the brownies are cooling, heat the hot fudge sauce in a small saucepan over low heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

8

Scoop the Ice Cream

Once the brownies are slightly cooled, place a brownie square in a dessert bowl and top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

9

Add Hot Fudge

Drizzle the warm hot fudge sauce over the ice cream generously.

10

Finish with Toppings

Top off the sundae with a generous dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings on top.
