Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Fries

Preheat your oven or fryer according to the package instructions for the frozen French fries. If using an oven, spread the fries out on a baking sheet and drizzle with vegetable oil. Bake for the time specified on the package until golden and crispy. If using a fryer, heat the vegetable oil in the fryer to 180°C (350°F) and fry the fries until golden brown.

Chili Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 3

    Add Vegetables and Spices

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the ground beef. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Beans

Mix in the canned diced tomatoes and kidney beans. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Top the Fries

Once the fries are cooked and crispy, place them on a large serving platter. Spoon the chili mixture generously over the fries.

  2. 6

    Add Cheese and Jalapeños

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the chili-topped fries. If desired, add sliced jalapeños on top for added heat.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the chili cheese fries immediately while hot, and enjoy!
