Brined Wings

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Brine the Wings

In a large bowl, combine sweet tea, salt, brown sugar, black peppercorns, garlic powder, onion powder, and water. Stir until the salt and sugar are dissolved. Add the chicken wings to the brine, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare for Frying

After brining, remove the wings from the brine and pat them dry with paper towels. Allow them to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Fry the Wings

Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the wings in batches for about 10-12 minutes or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Serve

Serve the fried wings with pickles, ranch dressing, and a side of fries tossed in your choice of sauce (Naked, Dry Rub, Deebo, Garlic Parm, BBQ).
