Preparation of Rasam

Prepare Tamarind Juice
In a bowl, dissolve the tamarind pulp in 1 cup of warm water. Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then strain the liquid to remove any solids. Set the tamarind juice aside.

Cook Tomatoes
In a pot, add 2 cups of chopped tomatoes and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until the tomatoes are soft, approximately 8-10 minutes.

Blend Ingredients
Once the tomatoes are cooked, blend them in a blender until smooth. Return the blended mixture to the pot.

Combine Ingredients
Add the tamarind juice, green chili peppers, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, and salt to the blended tomato mixture. Stir well and bring it to a boil.
Tempering the Rasam
