Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Skewers

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during grilling.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, chopped mint leaves, garam masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.

  3. 3

    Shape the Kababs

Divide the mixture into equal portions and mold each portion around a skewer, shaping it into a long cylinder that adheres to the skewer.

Grilling

  1. 4

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 200-220°C / 400-425°F).

  2. 5

    Grill the Kababs

Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally. Baste with oil to keep them moist and enhance flavor.

  3. 6

    Check for Doneness

The kababs are done when they are browned and cooked through, with an internal temperature of at least 70°C (160°F).

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Hot

Remove the kababs from the grill and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve them hot with mint chutney, sliced onions, and lemon wedges.
