Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
Baking the Naan

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to the highest temperature (usually around 500°F or 260°C) and place a baking stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.

Prepare Garlic and Cilantro Topping
Finely chop the garlic cloves and cilantro. Set aside.

Divide and Roll Out Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 6-8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into an oval shape about 1/4 inch thick.

Carefully place the naan onto the preheated baking stone or sheet. Bake for 2-3 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
