Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with yogurt and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let It Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and salt, cooking for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in chopped cilantro.

Naan Assembly and Cooking

  1. 7

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.

  2. 8

    Shape the Naan

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal balls. Roll each ball out into a tear-drop shape about 1/4 inch thick.

  3. 9

    Add Cheese Filling

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and crumbled feta cheese over half of the rolled dough. Fold the other half over the cheese and pinch the edges to seal.

  4. 10

    Bake the Naan

Carefully place the stuffed naan onto the hot pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 3-5 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.

  5. 11

    Brush with Garlic Butter

Remove the naan from the oven and immediately brush with the prepared garlic butter. Serve warm.
