Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help it cook evenly.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms, then flip them.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese and Bacon

After flipping, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and top with two slices of bacon. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bacon is crispy.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns and Toppings

While the patties are cooking, prepare your toppings. Wash and shred the lettuce, slice the tomato and onion, and prepare the pickles.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each burger bun. Place the cooked patty with cheese and bacon on top, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices, and pickles. Drizzle ketchup over the toppings and place the top half of the bun to complete the burger.
