Burger Patties Preparation

Prepare the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently to combine without overworking the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions (about 4 oz each). Shape them into loose balls without compacting too tightly.
Cooking the Burgers

Smash and Cook
Place two meat balls on the skillet and use a spatula to smash them down into thin patties. Cook for 2-3 minutes until a crust forms. Flip, add a slice of cheese to each patty, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Repeat
Remove the first two patties and repeat the smashing and cooking process with the remaining two meat balls.
Making the Burger Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as needed.

Build the Burger
Spread the burger sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with the two cheese-topped patties, followed by diced onions and house-made pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
