Method

Filling Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Wash and slice the fresh peaches, removing the pits. Place the sliced peaches in a large bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling Ingredients

To the bowl of sliced peaches, add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Toss gently until the peaches are well coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the juices to release.

Cobbler Topping Preparation

  1. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 4

    Mix the Topping

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Mix well. Gradually stir in 1 cup of milk until the mixture is smooth.

  3. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over low heat. Once melted, pour the butter into the batter and stir until combined.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 6

    Assemble the Cobbler

In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, pour the peach filling evenly on the bottom. Then, pour the cobbler topping mixture over the peaches, spreading it evenly.

  2. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

  3. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving warm. Enjoy your peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired!
