Method

Tea Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan and discard them.

Sweetening and Cooling

  1. 4

    Add Sugar

While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar until fully dissolved.

  2. 5

    Add Cold Water

Pour in 2 cups of cold water to the sweetened tea, stirring gently to combine.

  3. 6

    Cool the Tea

Let the sweet tea cool to room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour before serving.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Tea

Pour the chilled sweet tea over ice in tall glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.
