Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 2
Cut in Butter
Add the unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3
Add Buttermilk
Pour in the buttermilk and granulated sugar. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
Filling Preparation
- 4
Prepare Filling
In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix well to ensure even distribution.
- 5
Spread Butter
On a floured surface, roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick. Spread the softened butter evenly over the dough.
- 6
Baking
- 7
Roll and Cut
Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 8 equal pieces.
- 8
Prepare for Baking
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, making sure they are touching each other. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 9
Bake
Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Icing Preparation
- 10
Make Icing
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- 11
Drizzle Icing
Once the biscuits are out of the oven, drizzle the icing over the warm rolls before serving.
