Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Cut in Butter

Add the unsalted butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. 3

    Add Buttermilk

Make a well in the center of the mixture and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently with a fork until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 4

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it 2-3 times. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  5. 5

    Bake Biscuits

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Bake the biscuits for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 7

    Scramble Eggs

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and black pepper until well combined. In the same skillet used for the sausage, pour in the egg mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring gently until the eggs are softly scrambled, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. 8

    Assemble the Frisco

Slice the baked biscuits in half. On the bottom half, layer the cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, and topped with shredded cheddar cheese. Place the top half of the biscuit on and serve warm.
