Chicken Marinade

Biscuit Assembly

Method

Chicken Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large bowl, mix together the buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.

Breading Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Breading Mixture

In a separate shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

Frying the Chicken

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F or 175°C).

  2. 4

    Bread the Chicken

Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator. Let excess marinade drip off, then dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, pressing lightly to ensure it adheres. Shake off any excess flour.

  3. 5

    Fry the Chicken

Carefully place the breaded chicken pieces in the hot oil. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

  4. 6

    Drain the Chicken

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.

Biscuit Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Sandwich

Split the buttermilk biscuits in half. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half, place fried chicken on top, add pickle slices, and cover with the top half of the biscuit.
