Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Milk

Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape Biscuits

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough to about 1-inch thick and cut out biscuits using a biscuit cutter or a glass.

  6. 6

    Bake Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Egg and Cheese Preparation

  1. 7

    Whisk Eggs

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 8

    Cook Eggs

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring gently until the eggs are just set but still soft.

  3. 9

    Add Cheese

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the eggs and gently fold until melted.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. 10

    Prepare Biscuits

Once the biscuits are baked and slightly cooled, slice them in half horizontally.

  2. 11

    Add Egg and Cheese

Spoon a portion of the egg and cheese mixture onto the bottom half of each biscuit.

  3. 12

    Add Meat (if using)

If desired, add your choice of cooked meat (bacon, sausage, or ham) on top of the egg mixture.

  4. 13

    Top with Biscuit

Place the top half of the biscuit on the sandwich and gently press down.

  5. 14

    Serve

Serve warm and enjoy your classic biscuit sandwich!
