Method

Preparing the Tea

  1. 1

    Steeping the Tea

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 4 tablespoons of Thai tea leaves and reduce heat to low. Allow the tea to steep for about 10-15 minutes for strong flavor.

  2. 2

    Straining the Tea

After steeping, remove the saucepan from heat and strain the tea into a pitcher or large bowl using a fine mesh strainer to remove the tea leaves.

Sweetening the Tea

  1. 3

    Adding Sugar

While the tea is still warm, add 1 cup of sugar to the strained tea. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  2. 4

    Cooling the Tea

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold.

Serving the Tea

  1. 5

    Preparing Glasses

Fill each glass with about 1 cup of ice cubes.

  2. 6

    Pouring the Tea

Pour the chilled Thai tea over the ice in each glass, filling them about three-quarters full.

  3. 7

    Adding Milk

Top each glass with 1 tablespoon of condensed milk and 1 tablespoon of evaporated milk. Stir gently to combine before serving.
