Prepare the Potatoes
Peel and grate the russet potatoes using a box grater or food processor. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much excess moisture as possible.

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Form Tater Tots
Take small portions of the potato mixture and shape them into small cylindrical tots. Set aside on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Fry the Tater Tots
Carefully add the formed tater tots to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
