Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel and grate the russet potatoes using a box grater or food processor. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much excess moisture as possible.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, cornstarch, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  3. 3

    Form Tater Tots

Take small portions of the potato mixture and shape them into small cylindrical tots. Set aside on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Tater Tots

Carefully add the formed tater tots to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
