Hummus

Pita and Vegetables

Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water in a colander.

  2. 2

    Blend the Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, fresh cilantro, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and water. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

  3. 3

    Adjust Consistency

If the hummus is too thick, add a little more water or olive oil to reach your desired consistency.

  4. 4

    Taste and Adjust Seasoning

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning by adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.

Pita and Vegetable Preparation

  1. 5

    Warm the Pita

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the pita bread into wedges and place them on a baking sheet. Warm in the oven for about 5-7 minutes until soft and slightly crispy.

  2. 6

    Prepare Vegetables

While the pita is warming, wash and slice the carrot, green bell pepper, cucumber, and tomato into bite-sized pieces.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Plate

On a serving platter, spread the cilantro hummus in the center, arrange the warm pita wedges around it, and add the sliced vegetables and crumbled goat cheese on the side.
