Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chicken. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F or 190°C to 200°C).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 5
Rest the Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Prepare the Buns
While the chicken is resting, slice the sandwich buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill if desired.
- 7
Assemble the Sandwich
On the bottom half of each bun, spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by a slice of grilled chicken and a slice of tomato. Cap with the top half of the bun.
