Dumpling Filling
Method
Dumpling Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the edamame, mushrooms, grated carrot, rayu chili oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Assemble the Dumplings
Take a dumpling wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the vegetable filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges to seal tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- 3
Cook the Dumplings
You can either steam, boil, or pan-fry the dumplings. For steaming, place them in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam for about 10 minutes. For boiling, cook them in a pot of boiling water for about 5-7 minutes. For pan-frying, heat a little oil in a skillet, place the dumplings in, add a splash of water, cover, and cook until the bottoms are golden brown and the filling is heated through.
- 4
Serve
Serve the dumplings hot with additional rayu chili oil or soy sauce for dipping.
