Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Marinate Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and pepper. Submerge chicken breasts and marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare Breading
In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornstarch, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Bread Chicken
Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, pressing to adhere. Shake off excess and set aside.
- 4
Fry Chicken
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add chicken and fry for 6-8 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Make Nashville Sauce
In a bowl, combine hot oil, hot sauce, brown sugar, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- 6
Coat Chicken
Once chicken is cooked, coat each piece generously with the Nashville sauce.
- 7
Assemble Sandwich
Place the spicy chicken on toasted brioche buns, top with pickles, and close the sandwich.
