Method

Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cheese

Cut the provolone cheese into wedges about 1 inch thick. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Set Up Breading Station

In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour in the first bowl, whisk the eggs in the second bowl, and place the breadcrumbs mixed with salt and black pepper in the third bowl.

  3. 3

    Bread the Cheese

Dip each wedge of provolone cheese first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs, ensuring an even layer on all sides.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Wedges

Carefully add the breaded provolone wedges to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried provolone wedges hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
