Banana Bread Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- 2
Mash the Bananas
In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth. You can leave some small chunks for texture if desired.
- 3
Cream Butter and Sugar
In a separate bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, until well combined.
- 5
- 6
Add Nuts
If using, fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans.
- 7
Pour into Loaf Pan
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- 9
Cool
Once baked, remove the banana bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving Instructions
- 10
Toast the Banana Bread
Slice the cooled banana bread and toast it until golden brown.
- 11
Prepare Toppings
While the bread is toasting, prepare the ricotta cheese and honeycomb.
- 12
Serve
Spread a generous amount of ricotta cheese on each slice of toasted banana bread and top with pieces of local honeycomb. Serve immediately.
