Heirloom Tomatoes

Burrata Cheese

Toasted Rye

Method

Slow Roasting Tomatoes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Slice each heirloom tomato in half and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet.

  2. 2

    Season the Tomatoes

Drizzle the tomatoes with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, and drizzle balsamic vinegar over them.

  3. 3

    Roast the Tomatoes

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the tomatoes for about 2 hours, or until they are soft and caramelized.

Preparing Burrata and Rye

  1. 4

    Prepare the Rye Bread

While the tomatoes are roasting, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.

  2. 5

    Toast the Rye Bread

Place the rye bread slices in the skillet and toast them on both sides until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  3. 6

    Prepare the Burrata

Once the tomatoes are done roasting, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and set aside.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 7

    Plate the Ingredients

On a serving platter, arrange the toasted rye slices. Top each slice with a piece of burrata cheese and add roasted heirloom tomatoes around.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Finish with fresh basil leaves scattered over the dish, and drizzle with an additional touch of olive oil if desired.
