Beer
Mixer & Garnish
Glassware & Ice
Method
Preparation
- 1
Chill and prep glass
Place the beer in the refrigerator until well chilled (about 1β2 hours beforehand). If you prefer a salted rim, run a cut lime around the glass lip and dip into coarse salt to coat lightly.
- 2
Cut lime
Cut the fresh lime in half. Reserve one wedge for garnish. From the remaining half, cut a small wedge or slice to squeeze into the beer.
Assemble the Drink
- 3
Fill the prepared highball or pint glass with ice (about 1 cup). Large cubes will chill without over-diluting; crushed ice will make the drink colder faster.
- 4
- 5
Squeeze the juice from the small lime wedge into the beer (approximately 0.5β1 tsp of juice) and drop the squeezed wedge into the glass if desired for extra aroma.
- 6
Top off gently with the remaining beer to reach about 12 oz if needed, pouring slowly to avoid excessive foam.
- 7
Garnish the rim with the reserved lime wedge and serve immediately.
