Method

Prepare glass

  1. 1

    Chill glass (optional)

If you prefer a colder pour, place the pilsner or beer glass in the refrigerator for 20–30 minutes before serving. Do not freeze the glass — a very cold, slightly frosted glass will dull aroma and carbonation.

  2. 2

If using a room-temperature glass, rinse it quickly with cold water right before pouring. This removes dust and helps preserve the beer’s head and carbonation.

Serve Asahi

  1. 3

Open the bottle or can of Asahi Super Dry. Hold the glass at a 45° angle and begin pouring the beer slowly down the inside of the glass so it flows gently. Stop when the glass is about three-quarters full.

  2. 4

Tilt the glass upright and finish pouring down the center to create a 1/2–1 inch (12–25 mm) creamy head. Adjust pour speed to manage foam — too fast creates excessive foam, too slow reduces head formation.

  3. 5

If you prefer your beer extra cold and lightly diluted (common in some Asian serving styles), add up to 1/2 cup of chilled ice to the glass before pouring. Pour slowly to minimize splashing and disruption of carbonation.

  4. 6

Optionally, present with a lemon wedge on the rim. If using the lemon, lightly squeeze and drop the wedge into the beer or offer it for the guest to squeeze — a small amount of citrus will brighten the flavor but is not traditional with Asahi Super Dry.

  5. 7

Place the glass on a coaster and serve immediately. Enjoy responsibly.
