Cake Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the soaked cake. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon for garnish.
