Method

Cake Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  6. 6

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. 7

    Cool the Cake

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Soaking the Cake

  1. 8

    Prepare Milk Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  2. 9

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is completely cooled, poke holes all over the surface using a fork or skewer. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, ensuring it is evenly soaked.

  3. 10

    Refrigerate

Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Topping the Cake

  1. 11

    Prepare Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  2. 12

    Top the Cake

Spread the whipped cream over the top of the soaked cake. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon for garnish.

  3. 13

    Serve

Slice the cake and serve chilled. Enjoy your delicious Tres Leches Cake!
