Method

Churros Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball. Let it cool for about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy. Finally, incorporate the ground cinnamon.

Frying Churros

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe the Dough

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch long strips of dough into the hot oil.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

Topping Churros

  1. 7

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat Churros

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.

Chocolate Sauce Preparation

  1. 9

    Heat Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it is just about to simmer.

  2. 10

    Melt Chocolate

Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate chips and vanilla extract until smooth and fully melted.
