Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Begin by boiling 1 cup of fresh water in a kettle or pot. Ensure the water reaches a temperature of around 175°F (80°C), which is ideal for brewing green tea.

  2. 2

    Add Tea Leaves

Once the water is boiled, remove it from heat and let it cool for about 1 minute to reach the correct temperature. Place 2 teaspoons of green tea leaves in a teapot or a heat-resistant cup.

  3. 3

    Pour Water

Pour the hot water over the green tea leaves. Ensure that the leaves are fully submerged in the water for optimal steeping.

  4. 4

    Steep the Tea

Allow the tea to steep for 2-3 minutes. Avoid steeping for too long, as it can make the tea bitter.

  5. 5

    Strain the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a cup to remove the leaves. Alternatively, you can use a tea infuser to hold the leaves while steeping.

Optional Additions

  1. 6

    Sweeten the Tea

If desired, add 1 teaspoon of honey to your brewed green tea for sweetness. Stir well until the honey is fully dissolved.

  2. 7

    Add Lemon Juice

For a refreshing twist, squeeze in 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. Stir again to combine.
