Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare Brown Rice

Rinse the brown rice under cold water. In a medium pot, combine the rinsed brown rice, 2 cups of water, and 1 tsp of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes or until the rice is tender and water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook Oats

In another pot, combine 1 cup of oats with 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats reach your desired consistency. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tbsp of olive oil.

  3. 3

    Toast Whole Wheat Bread

Toast the slices of whole wheat bread until golden brown. You can use a toaster or a grill.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Serve the brown rice and oats in bowls. Top with optional toppings of your choice, such as nuts, fruits, or seeds. Enjoy with the toasted whole wheat bread on the side.
