    In a large mixing bowl, combine the pre-cooked cornmeal, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.

    Shape the Arepas

    Divide the dough into equal portions (about 8) and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1/2 inch thick.

    Cook the Arepas

    Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat a grill. Cook the arepas for about 5-7 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
