Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Duck Breast

Score the skin of the duck breast in a crosshatch pattern, being careful not to cut into the meat. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Duck Breast

In a hot skillet, place the duck breast skin-side down and cook over medium heat for about 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy. Flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until desired doneness is reached. Remove from skillet and let rest.

  3. 3

    Cook the Cipollini Onions

In the same skillet, add olive oil and the cipollini onions. Sauté until caramelized and tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baby Fennel

Add the sliced baby fennel to the skillet with the onions and sauté for an additional 3 minutes until slightly softened.

  5. 5

    Add Satsuma Oranges

Gently fold in the satsuma orange segments and cook for 2 more minutes to warm through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Slice the rested duck breast and arrange on a plate. Top with the sautéed baby fennel, cipollini onions, and satsuma oranges. Drizzle with duck jus before serving.
