Baking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust them with cocoa powder or flour.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix Sugar and Eggs

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until pale and frothy.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Slowly pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring constantly. Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

  5. 5

    Add Flour

Sift the all-purpose flour into the mixture and gently fold until just combined.

  6. 6

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  7. 7

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  8. 8

    Cool and Serve

Let the cakes cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert them onto plates. Serve immediately, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
