Method

Meatballs

1

Prepare the Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

2

Shape the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the meat mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Bake the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned on the outside.

Sauce

4

Sauté the Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

5

Add the Tomatoes

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes to thicken.

6

Combine with Meatballs

Once the meatballs are cooked, carefully add them to the sauce, coating them well. Let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.

House Bread

7

Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

8

Make the Dough

In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

9

Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

10

Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

11

Shape and Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the risen dough into a loaf or rolls and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
