Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cooking Liquid

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water, sliced lemon, Old Bay seasoning, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Immediately transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them chill for about 5-10 minutes, then drain and set aside.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

  2. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust seasoning with more salt or hot sauce, if desired.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter.

  2. 7

    Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
