Burger Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

1

Make the Burger Patties

In a bowl, combine ground beef, diced green chilies, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined and form into 4 equal patties.

2

Cook the Patties

Heat olive oil in a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with shredded cheddar cheese to melt.

3

Assemble the Burgers

Toast burger buns lightly. Place lettuce, tomato, and onion slices on the bottom half of the bun, add the cheesy patty, and top with the other half of the bun.

Fries or Onion Rings Preparation

4

Prepare the Fries

If using potatoes, cut them into fries and soak in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain and pat dry.

5

Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt and chili powder.

6

Fry the Onion Rings

If using onion rings, fry them in the same oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and season with salt and chili powder.
