Preparing the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Espresso
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.

Mix with Liqueur
Once cooled, mix the espresso with 3 tablespoons of coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
Preparing the Mascarpone Mixture

Whisk Egg Yolks
In a bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Add 1 cup of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the yolk mixture and mix until smooth.

Whip Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Fold Together
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip 12 ladyfinger cookies into the coffee mixture and lay them flat in a 9x9 inch dish.

Add Mascarpone Layer
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
Serving

Add Toppings
Before serving, dust the top with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.

Slice into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy!
