Churro Dough

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

For Frying

Method

Churro Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 cup of all-purpose flour until the mixture forms a ball.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the mixture to cool slightly. Then, add 2 large eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough. Mix until smooth and well combined.

Cinnamon Sugar Coating Preparation

  1. 4

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine 1 cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

Frying the Churros

  1. 5

    Heat Oil

In a deep saucepan, heat 4 cups of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Carefully pipe 4-6 inch strips of dough into the hot oil.

  3. 7

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Coat with Cinnamon Sugar

While still warm, roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
