Chocolate Lava Cake

Vanilla Ice Cream

Method

Chocolate Lava Cake

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Melt the Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unsalted butter and semisweet chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until melted and smooth.

  3. 3

    Mix the Batter

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, eggs, and egg yolks until well combined. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture, then add the vanilla extract, flour, and a pinch of salt. Mix until just combined.

  4. 4

    Fill the Ramekins

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cakes

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  6. 6

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate, allowing the cake to slide out. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
