Panna Cotta

Method

Panna Cotta Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Gelatin

Sprinkle gelatin over 3 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl and let it sit for about 5 minutes until it blooms.

  2. 2

    Heat Mixture

In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Combine Gelatin

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until fully dissolved. Add vanilla extract and mix well.

  4. 4

    Chill

Pour the mixture into individual ramekins or cups and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

Berry Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Cook Berries

In a saucepan, combine mixed berries, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until the berries break down and the sauce thickens slightly.

  2. 6

    Cool Sauce

Remove from heat and let the berry sauce cool. You can blend it for a smoother texture if desired.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve

Once the panna cotta is set, carefully unmold it onto plates and drizzle the berry sauce over the top before serving.
