Fries

Method

Fries Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into even sticks, approximately 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut fries in a large bowl of cold water. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Dry the Fries

After soaking, drain the fries and lay them out on a clean kitchen towel or paper towel. Pat them dry to remove as much moisture as possible.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil. Do not overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 4-5 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  6. 6

    Drain and Season

Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle with sea salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

    Garnish (Optional)

If desired, chop fresh parsley and sprinkle over the fries for added flavor and presentation.

  8. 8

    Serve

Serve the fries hot and enjoy them as a side dish or snack!
