Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. Stir in minced garlic, lime juice, chili powder, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Shrimp

Add the shrimp to the bowl with the marinade. Toss to ensure all shrimp are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to penetrate.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Bacon

While the shrimp is marinating, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Take the bacon slices and cut them in half.

  4. 4

    Wrap the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the marinade. Take a half slice of bacon, place a shrimp at one end, and wrap it tightly. Secure with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat for all shrimp.

  5. 5

    Bake the Botana

Place the wrapped shrimp on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the shrimp are cooked through.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Once cooked, remove from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped cilantro. Serve immediately while hot.
