Chilaquiles Base

Method

Preparing the Chilaquiles

1

Prepare the Sauce

In a saucepan, heat the red or green sauce over medium heat. Add the chicken or vegetable broth and stir until combined. Bring to a gentle simmer.

2

Combine with Tortilla Chips

Add the tortilla chips to the sauce and gently stir to coat them evenly. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the chips soften slightly but retain some crunch.

Assembling the Dish

3

Plate the Chilaquiles

Using a slotted spoon, transfer the chilaquiles to a serving plate.

4

Add Toppings

Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chilaquiles, followed by dollops of sour cream. Add chopped cilantro and diced onion on top.

5

Finish with Avocado and Eggs

Garnish with sliced avocado and, if desired, top with fried eggs.
